Vishwesh Desai was born and raised in Ahmedabad, India, a hardcore Gujju who shares the infamous Gujarati sweet tooth.
An 18-year-old with a fierce passion for reading and writing, the publication of his short stories in the Estrade magazine and the 2015 edition of the ‘I CAN’ book preceded the completion of his first novel, Shadows of the Northlands, which also just happens to be the fourth one he started. Vishwesh was thirteen when he began writing Shadows of the Northlands and fourteen when it was published.
Vishwesh has been awarded with the 'Rana Kapoor Young Talent Award 2016' by Kumaon Literary Festival, Yes Bank and Yes Institute. He has spoken at several literature festivals all over the country.
His second book Unrestrained Minors, an anthology of short stories written by children he has mentored over the last two years under his Project Bibliophilia, was released on June 16, 2019.
Vishwesh has so far set up two libraries at Make A Difference Foundation and Sauhard Foundation with the help of Project Bibliophilia's book collection drive.
He is currently working on writing his third book and setting up a writing centre. He is in the process of launching a state-wide creative writing contest in association with Ahmedabad Book Club. He also conducts creative writing workshops for schools and other organizations.
